Book sales / including by e-payments

The SLS publishes and retails items in several formats with most items available to the public. The currently available sale and services items are either set out below or on the SLS Photograph Collection, Library and Journal pages. This page is currently a partial work in progress. As a consequence, on a temporary basis pending that also being reformatted, the list of free publications and now out of stock items is here. For third party organisations with SLS related material see page foot. (Section and page updated 17th May 2020).

Post & Packing

Our standard flat rate for P&P is £3.00 and is sufficient to mail up to two books from the list below by Royal Mail to UK addresses. For more than two titles, or for mailing to non-UK destinations, please email the Society PRO (John New) for a bespoke P&P quotation.

Books We have stocks of all the titles below; however, the issuing of cheques has become problematic for many. If you are able to pay using a PayPal account please email the PRO (John New) for details of how to make your payment into the Society's PayPal account. A permanent e-payment shop to replace this temporary measure is our current work in progress item. 	*Narrow Gauge & Miniature* by Mike G Fell OBE	From The Stephenson Locomotive Society Archives (Vol 1). First published in 2017 the book covers a wide range of subjects both UK centric and worldwide; all based around the field of narrow gauge and miniature railways. 	*Eclectic Electrics* by R A S Hennessey	From The Stephenson Locomotive Society Archive (Vol 2). First published in 2017 as with Volume 1 in the series this book covers a wide range of material, in this case that in the arena of electric traction, both current and historic. More details about the book here.	£9.50 ( £2 off for members) plus P&P.
	IINTERNAL COMBUSTION TRACTION - A compilation by R A S Hennessey	From The Stephenson Locomotive Society Archive (Vol 3). First published in 2020 as with the two earlier books in the series in this, our third volume in the series, the content is again wide ranging and extensive. In this book it is the internal combustion traction constructed around the world that is the topic. The book is not restricted to just coverage of the diesel locomotive, internal combustion has a far more varied nature than that. 	*Little and Good (The Great North of Scotland Railway).*	A history of this lesser known line, its locomotives and rolling stock. (Although stocks are now limited copies are still available). More details about the book here.	£5.00 plus P&P.

Index to historic Journal editions - CD option		A compilation of the indices issued with the Journal over the years has been produced on CD. (This reflects the idiosyncrasies of the original compilers!)	£5 including postage and packing
Hard copy editions of Journal back issues		These are also available although the price varies. Pre 1945 ones are occasionally available but post 1945 we have copies of most issues.	Variable on application to the Librarian.

SLS Related material from other sources 1) Postal first day covers relating to the SLS and available from Buckingham Covers see - SLS Related Promotions 2) 4mm scale nameplates for Loco 66957 - Stephenson Locomotive Society 1909-2009 available from Fox Transfers. 3) As of late 2019 onwards a OO gauge model of the Class 66 locomotive 66957 Stephenson Locomotive Society 1909-2009 has been produced and retailed by Hattons although stock levels fluctuate.
